With great
gratitude, DAABON accompanied the
transition process until the retirement stage, of one of its most
renowned
executives: Germán Zapata Hurtado. A man who, from his position as
Executive
Vice President, contributed his experience and dedication for the last
22
years. to the growth and consolidation of the Group.
He was in
charge of leading the development of
banana production and the creation of the back office, through the nine
corporate
support departments. This organizational strategy that has facilitated
the
Group to reach excellence is areas related to human resources, social
and
environmental sustainability, external and internal communications and
information and knowledge management.

The new executive
vice president is an environmental engineer, with a master's degree in
environmental
engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA - from the
Universidad de
los Andes.
As director
of sustainability, Felipe Guerrero
was at the forefront of the latest developments and advancements of the
Group, which
include the initiatives that will drive the principles of the circular
economy
and the reduction of the Group’s water and carbon footprints in their
production processes. He participated as a representative of the
Roundtable
Sustainable Palm Oil for Latin America and in the creation of the Palm
Oil
Innovation Group (POIG).
