One thousand meters
closer to the stars in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
stands the
Tolima farm, home of Hass avocado cultivation of the Daabon Group.
Thanks to
the kindness of mother nature reflected in fertility of her lands and
the hard
work of Daabon’s people, today is a reality that fills us with
pride.
2018 avocado
production exceeded the expectations proposed at the beginning of
the year, so
much so that for the second time, Daabon Group exported this fruit
to European
markets, meeting high quality standards. For the first semester of
the current
year, it is planned to start with a smaller crop called “mitaca” or
“traviesa,”
which will be harvested, packed and exported during the month of
February, and
then finish with a second during the month of October.
The experience
acquired throughout this process, both in our own plantations and in
the joint
work with some allied producers, has led us to take measures which
will be
gradually implemented, seeking the continuous improvement of
processes
throughout the chain, hoping to optimize our quality in every sense.
Historically, quality has been and will always be a commitment of
the Daabon
Group. “The elaboration of a protocol for crop management has
undoubtedly been
one of the greatest achievements amidst the experience acquired this
year,
allowing us to take advice to our allied producers,” indicated
Ramiro Londoño,
Manager of Ecobio.
We congratulate all
the people who, directly or indirectly, are part of this initiative
and who, in
the midst of the challenges of nature, have managed to place the
name of the
Daabon Group once again for quality and excellence in the
fulfillment of the objectives.
